What Cratehound is

Cratehound searches independent record stores (via Shopify's commerce platform) and enriches listings with openly licensed Discogs metadata, so you can compare pressings and prices in one place and be alerted when a wanted record turns up. We are not the seller. When you click through to buy, your purchase — and your contract, payment, delivery, and returns — is with the record store, on their site and their terms.

Listing accuracy

Prices, availability, and pressing details come from stores' own listings and from Discogs' community-built dataset. Both can be wrong or out of date, and stock can vanish between our last check and your click. Always confirm the details on the store's page before buying. Cratehound is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

How we make money

Some links are attributed: if you buy through them, the store or Shopify may pay us a commission. This never changes the price you pay and never changes a listing's position in your results beyond labels we show (promoted placements are marked). Alert emails carry the same disclosure.

Your account and fair use

Keep your account to yourself and use the site as a person, not a robot: no scraping, bulk-harvesting, or attempts to disrupt the service. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other users.

Trademarks

“Discogs” is a trademark of Zink Media, LLC; Cratehound uses Discogs data but is not affiliated with, sponsored, or endorsed by Discogs. Cratehound is likewise not affiliated with Shopify Inc. Store names and artwork belong to their owners.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cratehound is not liable for losses arising from listing inaccuracies, missed alerts, downtime, or purchases made from stores we link to. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law of England and Wales, which governs these terms.
